THE DESIGN CHALLENGE was established at the turn of the millennium in December 2000. It is a bi-monthly club for the Junior children and its aim is to involve families and friends in overcoming a set DT Challenge over two to three weeks at home for an Exhibition Day in School. Each Challenge attracts a variety of entrants and a variety of solutions. Entrants to each challenge vary from 5 to over 50+ - If you look at the list of challenges over the last 6 years all have been successfully met - on occasions with outstanding ingenuity and design. |
| On Exhibition Day all entrants are awarded DT Challenge 'Official Entrant' stickers. Devices are then demonstrated to an audience and then scrutinised by the judge. Certificates [incorporating photographs] are awarded to selected entrants in an Assembly [these are usually for 'Best Device'; 'Most Original Device'; 'Best Fun Device'; 'Best Concept Device' and 'Best Device using re-cycled materials] |
