Discipline

All children have a right to an ordered, secure and supportive environment in which to learn.  Rules are necessary for the safe, efficient and sensible running of a school.  Our rules are few and have been formed by teachers and children over time to suit the needs of the school.  There is sometimes a need for the operation of sanctions which would be those used by a prudent parent based on fairness and common sense.  They will take into account the circumstances, the age of the pupil, the misdeed and the individual child.  Sanctions may include repeat or additional work, loss of playtimes, etc.  If a child's behaviour is seriously unacceptable or there is frequent bad behaviour then parents are informed and a meeting is held to help resolve the situation.  We aim for self-discipline forming within each individual.
