Selly Manor is a lovely example of a Tudor house and it is right next to Cadbury World too, so you could maybe go there on the same day. Its oldest parts date to 1327 and  it has some lovely furniture inside. Miss H especially likes the civil war armoured helmets that are displayed upstairs. It is a small place, but has a lovely atmosphere, well worth a look!

Fascinating fact: This whole building was in a terrible state and falling down. The very rich Cadbury family saw it about to be knocked down and decided to save it. To show how wonderful they were, they took it apart piece by piece and moved the whole house to the other side of Birmingham! Each numbered piece was then put back together like a gigantic jigsaw. The idea was that the workers at the chocolate factory would be cheered up to walk past the building every day. George Cadbury built the whole town of Bournville from scratch and if you look around the area carefully, you can see how he tried to make some of the new houses look Tudor-ish too!
